On the tunnel side, evidence is thin in both directions; Egypt has DPI-filtered plain OpenVPN since 2017, which makes NordLynx or obfuscated servers the expected working paths. January 2026 coverage of the Discord block reported VPN users bypassing it, consistent with tunnels broadly working.
